The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events in the United States and it is easy to see why. There are a total of 32 NFL teams divided into two divisions, which are the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). Each team plays 17 games which leads to the playoffs and then eventually leads to the Super Bowl which is the penultimate match against the two remaining teams. This list will give some information on the current favourites to win the Super Bowl in 2023 in no particular order.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have had a strong season so far and it looks like they will be the team to beat during the playoffs of which they are the first team in the league to secure a place. Players such as centre Jason Kelce and quarterback Jalen Hurts have been pivotal to the working success of the team in recent years which includes an NFL Super Bowl win in 2017. They are among the top four teams when it comes to Super Bowl betting odds of winning and the way they have been playing in the 2022 season there is no reason why they can’t take it all the way.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills have had a long and rocky history and they are yet to win a Super Bowl but the odds are in their favour for the 2022-2023 season, currently being the main favourites to win the Big Game. Head coach Sean McDermott became coach of the Bills in 2017 and has improved the team dramatically, most notably with quarterback Josh Allen drastically improving during the 2020 season as well as leading the team to 1st in the AFC East games. Unfortunately, they lost the AFC divisional game to the Kansas City Chiefs, but they are heading towards success if their playing style remains consistent for the rest of the season.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are shaping up to be serious contenders for the 2023 Super Bowl, despite their last win being back in 1995. However, they have won the majority of their games in the 2022 season, but head coach Mike McCarthy and the team still have some hard work to do, especially since they are up against the Philadelphia Eagles again in a few weeks, which is one of the high-ranking teams they lost to earlier in the season. However, they seem to have the most luck at the AT&T Stadium which is their home field, so the Eagles might be in for a challenge. The Cowboys are not the top favourites but they are ranked high enough to be considered a viable team to win the 2023 Super Bowl.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are the second top contenders for the 2023 Super Bowl after the Buffalo Bills. They won the 2019 season Super Bowl and almost made it again in 2021 but lost out to the Cincinnati Bengals who in turn lost the Super Bowl to the Los Angeles Rams. The team has plenty of strong players, with Patrick Mahomes as starting quarterback and tight end Travis Kelce who has the NFL record for most consecutive 1,000 yards seasons as well as being in the 2010s All-Decade team. With skill like this, there is a good chance the Chiefs can succeed in the playoffs and get to the Super Bowl.
