The new TRON ride at Disney Park’s Magic Kingdom is still being built and tested for safety by Disney World Imagineers. We have everything we know about it so far, like when it will open,
What is Disney World’s new Tron ride?
The new TRON ride Disney World is called Lightcycle Run or Lightcycle Power Run. It’s a ride like a roller coaster in Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain.
In 2017, Disney’s CEO, Bob Chapek, discussed the attraction’s design at the D23 Expo. D23 Expo. It is a copy of the popular ride that opened in June of this year at Shanghai Disneyland.
The riders will use motorbikes with two wheels that look like this. They look like the ones on the Flight of Passage ride at Animal Kingdom. Imagineers made the bikes look like the TRON movies’ light cycles. Riders sit on their bikes, lean back, and hold on to the handles.
Your body will stay on the bike because of the back pads. The ride’s layout will be futuristic and electronic, going as fast as sixty miles per hour. Part of the 3,169-foot-long track is inside, where it is dark, and part is outside, with a changing-light canopy.
Imagineers have given us information about the ride and what to expect. So far, they have shown what the ride’s vehicles will look like and what the actors will wear.
The social media pages for Disney are a great way to find out what’s happening in the world. They often keep their Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube accounts up-to-date, and Tok, Instagram, and YouTube are also used.
If you want to see it for yourself, you can take the People Mover in Tomorrowland to get a close-up of the progress. This attraction moves slowly and looks out over a building site.
This is how the ride looked when it first opened in Shanghai Disneyland. It has a height limit of about 48 inches (122 centimeters), and at Disney World, the tallest height requirement is 44 inches for Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Flight of Passage.
If this ride is built with the same height requirements as the one in Shanghai, Lightcycle Run will have the highest height requirement of any ride at Disney World.
What are we expecting from this TRON ride?
People who have seen the first TRON movie and the more recent TRON: Legacy will notice that the ride references the movies.
It is possible to know what “The Grid” or “Team Blue” means. Based on what was said about the ride in Shanghai, riders will “As the Grid comes to life in a thrilling race to survive, you’ll feel adrenaline-filled thrills and chills. The Power Run was made to be a fun way for “Programs” and “Users” to talk to each other. It is a classic race between teams to take eight Energy Gates and win against the other teams.
When you enter the portal, be ready to be digitized. This is your way into the world of TRON, which is full of lights, energy, and excitement. You’ll join team blue in the arena when you leave the real world behind. Team Blue is ready to fight the scariest programs on the Grid.”
The description also gives a general idea of how the attraction works from beginning to end. The first part of the experience is the Sync Chamber, where “Users” sync up with their light cycles.
Then you are pushed to the Launcher Upload Conduit, which has flashing lights and techno music. After that, you get to The Grid.
Here’s what The Grid says about the experience in Shanghai and what that says about your time at The Grid,
“TRON icons are full of designs with bright lights and sleek colors that change. As Lightcycles spin around each Gate, the game’s “gravity box” seems to get more powerful. Can Team Blue catch all of them and win the game? Check to see if you can beat the Programs, get through the Power Run, and get back to the real world.”
This depends on what we know about the first Light Cycle Run in Shanghai. Changes could be made to the version at Disney World to bring in a different crowd. But the attraction seems to be a lot like the one in Shanghai.
What time will Tron Coaster Disney world be open?
The TRON Light Cycle Race was supposed to open in October 2021, during Disney World’s 50th-anniversary party.
Due to problems with Covid-19, the opening date was put off indefinitely. Jerold Kaplan, the ride’s Executive Engineer at Imagineers, says they are working on the “push/pull” testing of the ride.
Before the public can rate the ride, these tests ensure that it is safe and has enough room for its parts. Even though at first, it seemed like the building would never be finished, This stage of testing is a sign that we might not have to wait too long. If this keeps up, the best option is to open in 2023, and we are still determining when it will be.
Because this ride will be next to the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks, like Space Mountain, the Magic Kingdom train is still closed. After this new attraction opens, it is expected to reopen as soon as it is safe.
Conclusion
TRON ride Disney World will be a great way to experience the futuristic world of TRON. It’s a short but thrilling ride that will put you right in the middle of the action.
