What Is D. El Ed Course?
D.El Ed stands for Diploma in Elementary Education; it is a two-year diploma course for the people who want to make a career in elementary education. In this course, people are taught and trained how to teach students of elementary grade i.e, grades I to VIII. During this two-year diploma course, pupil-teachers are taught about subjects related to child psychology and pedagogy teaching methods. Eligibility Criteria for D.El.Ed
Qualification: For taking admission in D.El. Ed, you should be 12th passed from any stream with at least 50% marks. This is the minimum qualification that any college wants and the age limit for doing D.El Ed is a minimum of 17 years and the upper age limit is 34 to 35 years. The upper age limit gives an option to the working professionals who want to pursue a career in teaching, to do the course and become teachers.
Admission: The admission process for the D.El.Ed is based on both D.El.Ed entrance exam basis and on the merit list. The candidate has to check what their college or university offers, the entrance exam for the D.El Ed admission is conducted by different state colleges and universities. The candidate has to fill out the entrance exam form either offline or online and then have to prepare for the examination. The entrance exam syllabus includes English, Mathematics and Numerical Abilities, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Teaching Abilities and Language (Hindi or Regional Language). After the candidate passes the entrance exam they can get admission to the college.
Education Mode: Students opting for doing D.El.Ed can pursue the course either from regular college or from distance education. Many colleges and universities do offer the option of distance education to their students; some of the famous distance education courses universities are IGNOU and School of Open Learning (SOL). This option eases the road of learning for the students who can’t attend regular classes and for the working professionals.
